I had the most fun capturing the sweet and lovely Melissa Jane for her Philadelphia PA Branding Session at Power Plant Productions Studio! I photographed her as she celebrated the success and milestones reached in her TWO businesses! Melissa owns and runs MJ Bridal Artistry, while also crushing it with her side hustle with Green Compass.
Philadelphia PA Branding Session
She just celebrated her two year anniversary in business with MJ Bridal Artistry!! SO AMAZING! Melissa is not only phenomenal at what she does, but it is her passion and joy! At the age of 7 Melissa was already dreaming of doing hair and makeup professionally. Now, Melissa is living out her dream and helping Brides on their wedding day! I love hearing success stories like this and seeing people following their passions in life! She is definitely highly skilled and amazing at what she does!
Melissa is also celebrating big successes in her side hustle turned business as a two star director of Green Compass! We wanted to celebrate + represent both of her businesses during this branding session by using different looks. She wore a fun, pink tutu that added a pop of color to her images in celebration of her 2 year anniversary of MJ Bridal Artistry! We also captured a few of Melissa in her makeup chair, which she had envisioned for awhile. Knowing her vision for this branding session, it was so exciting to pull it together for her and celebrate her craft!
A Look Behind the Scenes
As every business owner knows, there is a lot of time spent working on the computer. Even in a business like Melissa’s, she still spends significant time working on her computer. She must be in communication with her brides and her wonderful team! We made sure to capture that in a few behind the scenes photos of her working on her laptop + phone with her planner nearby!
For branding sessions, I always encourage clients to make it personal to them and their business. So I was thrilled when Melissa wanted to add in props like her makeup chair and brushes. We also included her adorable honeybee coffee mug that holds both meaning and sentimental value to Melissa, as she not only loves honeybees, but her childhood nickname from her mom is honeybee! Props are a fun way to incorporate those meaningful items that tell a story and let others get to know you through your images.
