If we haven’t met yet, Hi! I’m Jocelyn! New Jersey Wedding Photographer specializing in timeless and classic imagery for couples who are wildly in love.
On week one, I’ll be sharing 3 tips on how to stay at peace and present on your Wedding day!
Tip One to a Peaceful Wedding Experience
Confide in your maid of honor
You’ll have a planner and photographer, but sometimes you just need to to confide in someone comfortable and familiar. I think it’s a great idea to fill in one of your bridesmaids (probably maid of honor) and give her a copy of the schedule, run through, etc. That way someone outside the planning knows EXACTLY what’s going on. And I think it’d be a great idea if you and her have a keyword for when you are overwhelmed on your day or need help with something. That way whenever you say {insert key word} she knows exactly what on the schedule you may be overwhelmed by or what to help you with.
Sometimes it’s exhausting to speak up and reach out for help! So to avoid that exhaustion on your day, you can just say {insert key word} to get quick, accurate, and comforting relief from someone close to you!
Tip Two to a Peaceful Wedding Experience
Trust your photographer and planner and their experience
Your photographer and planner are there for a reason! TRUST THEM! I tend to love having things in order and thought out. And I think regardless of your personality or enneagram type, we all pay attention to the things we really care about. And my guess is you really care about your wedding experience.
Look inward and think about how you best trust people. For me, I trust people when I have a relationship with them! For you, it could be that you trust people when you know the statistics of the situation! (we’re all different and that’s what makes us special) So, once you recognize how you best trust people- DO THAT with your planner and photographer. If you need to build a relationship with them, ask them to get coffee, ask them what their favorite things are, etc. If you need to go over the details one more time, ask them to have a call with you! Do what you need to do to feel like you can trust them and relax!
Tip Three to a Peaceful Wedding Experience
Remind yourself that your Wedding experience only comes once
Take several moments throughout your day to breath and remind yourself that this is a once in a lifetime day. When we remind ourselves that this is once in a lifetime opportunity, we tend to take it all in more… look at all those details that make the day extra special for you. Experience your wedding day with all your senses. Go into your day with the intention that you’ll never get this back and you want to live the best out of it! That is the BEST way to fully experience your day with rest and peace!
